* The speed of ram is reduced to what the Motherboard can support Maximum. Let say if ur motherboard supports maximum 333 MHz ram and if u install 400 MHz ram then it will show 333 MHz ram.
* The ram speed will be decreased to the slowest ram : If ur 1st ram is 333 MHz and u installed new ram of 400 MHz in second slot, then ur 400 MHz will run at 333 mhz.
